About ICT

Integrated CNT Technologies (ICT) develops high-purity, application-ready single-wall carbon nanotube materials for research and emerging technologies.

Carbon nanotubes offer an exceptional combination of electronic, optical, mechanical, and chemical properties. However, as-produced nanotubes are complex mixtures containing many different nanotube structures, or chiralities, with different electronic properties. This variability has been a major obstacle to translating the extraordinary properties of individual carbon nanotubes into practical technologies.

ICT is working to remove that obstacle.

ICT is based at the Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2) at UMass Lowell, where we operate laboratory facilities for carbon nanotube purification, processing, and characterization.

M2D2 provides a collaborative environment connecting emerging technology companies with the research infrastructure and expertise of the University of Massachusetts system.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make precisely controlled carbon nanotube materials accessible to researchers and technology developers.

ICT specializes in the purification and processing of semiconducting single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs), with particular emphasis on chirality, length, chemical purity, and compatibility with downstream applications.

We work with customers and collaborators to develop nanotube materials tailored to demanding applications including:

  • Nanoelectronics and semiconductor devices

  • Optical and near-infrared technologies

  • Chemical and biological sensing

  • Biomedical research

  • Fundamental nanotube science

Our Origins

Integrated CNT Technologies was founded by Dr. Constantine Khripin, a materials scientist with extensive experience in carbon nanotube separation, colloidal processing, and nanomaterials.

ICT's technology builds upon carbon nanotube purification research developed at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The company holds an exclusive license to NIST intellectual property related to aqueous two-phase extraction (ATPE), a powerful approach for separating single-wall carbon nanotubes according to their molecular structure.

ICT is extending this foundation into scalable processes for producing highly purified nanotube materials with the characteristics required by researchers and advanced technology developers.

Working With ICT

ICT works with academic researchers, industrial R&D groups, and technology developers who require nanotube materials beyond what is readily available from conventional commercial suppliers.

We supply purified SWCNTs by custom order and welcome collaborations involving challenging purification and processing requirements.
